Ways to get to Lisbon

Plane

Airplane is a great option if you are in Europe, as you can take advantage of low cost flights from companies such as Ryanair and EasyJet, for example, as this is a quick and economical way to reach the Portuguese capital. The airport is about 30 minutes, by car or taxi, from the center of Lisbon, and you can also use other means to travel to the city center or place of stay.

How to get from the airport to the city of Lisbon or place of accommodation.

Aerobus

You can use the aerobus, which has been considered one of the easiest transports for traveling to the city center or back to the airport. The Aerobus departs with an interval of 20 minutes for Zone 1 and, from 60 minutes on, for Zone 2, you can check on the website which zone your hotel belongs to.

Aerobus also features amenities such as free wi-fi on board, USB chargers and a place to put your bags! Tickets range from €3 to €8, but if you buy them online you can enjoy a discount.

Táxi

It is one of the most traditional means of transport, but it continues to be of great importance and to be constantly used.

Did you know that taxis in Lisbon can be called through an APP, thus providing a more convenient experience for those who are now arriving in the capital?

Just select in the application where they are or authorize the use of exact location and the taxi will come to the selected location. The fare to reach the center of Lisbon is around €20.

Metro

The metro line allows the trip from the airport to the center of Lisbon for just €1.45, you just need to buy a ticket (or travel card) at the station. The travel card can then be recharged.

Bus

If your arrival or departure is on a weekday, you can also use the bus, but your journey may be longer, as the waiting interval can vary between 20 to 30 minutes. To travel from the airport to the center of Lisbon (such as Bairro Alto) you should use the bus service numbers 705,722,208,744 and 783. The ticket purchased on board costs €1.80. Car

To go to your hotel or accommodation, you can also rent a car, directly at the airport, when you arrive, at any of the various car rental companies installed at the airport, where you will have the security that you will be renting from reliable companies. Transfer

You can also book a transfer in advance, which has the advantage of having a driver waiting for you when you arrive. This reservation can be one-way or both. However, it is not considered the most economical transport.

Train

Another way used to get to Lisbon is by train. The price of the trip varies depending on the place of departure of the trip. If your starting point is mainland Portugal, you should check conditions and schedules at  Comboios de Portugal or, if the starting place is, for example, Spain, you can also search on the same website.

Car

Using a car is always an option when the starting point is not too far away, but it is advisable to consult and analyze the route through the journey before starting the trip.
